Have you seen Australian designer and illustrator Beci Orpin‘s newly released book: Find and Keep? It’s all kinds of wonderful! I had a gift voucher at my fave book store Kinokuniya which had been burning a hole in my pocket for a few months, so over the weekend I picked up a copy of Beci’s book.
There are so many craft books coming out these days, so as much as I love Beci’s work I was unsure about it. But as soon as I opened the book I knew it was something special. It truly is an inspiration. The craft projects are lovely, but the book is so much more than that. It’s a glimpse into Beci’s life, creative process and inspirations. Beci’s work, the photography and the book design are all in perfect harmony and make a visual feast. It’s a book to linger over and to read and be inspired by. Even if I don’t end up making any of the projects in the book it’s one I’ll come back to again and again.
The quilt in this montage was designed by Beci for Urban Outfitters – so great! It’s new in store and I’m sure it won’t last long. The quilt and the mushrooms are lovely examples of Beci’s work – they aren’t in the book, but I wanted to share them anyway.
