I have to admit that I’m struggling here. Roxy has been knocked for six by jet lag and just can’t get back onto Australian time. As a result she’s dead on her feet in the early afternoon, asleep between 3 and 5pm, and awake again at 2am. Which means we’re both up for the day at 2am. It’s not fun. School goes back tomorrow, so I hope she makes it through the day, and I can get some time to get back on top of things and to blog. Do you have any suggestions of what I can do to help Roxy reset her body clock? I’ve tried keeping her up until at least 6 or 7pm, but she’s literally asleep on her feet and it’s awful. Mother guilt!
On top of that I’ve had the wind knocked out of my sails today by the discovery of someone on the other side of the world who has copied and is selling not one of the red thread products, but four of them! And they seem to have quite a high profile. Even more brazen is that they actually purchased my sewing patterns, kits and fabric panels from me in order to copy them, so I have a record of the sales. I’m not ready to name and shame them just yet – I’m waiting for their response, and to speak with my copyright lawyer. Seriously though what sort of person does that? It really makes me lose faith, the lack of ethics and respect is so disappointing. What is reassuring though is that a stranger who knows my work emailed to alert me. You really can’t get away with much these days – the world is a small place.
So I’m feeling a bit deflated and I’ve lost all the energy I returned from our holiday with. No doubt it will be back soon, I just need a little time to regroup I think.
This is a totally unrelated image that I took yesterday. The colours make me happy.
