I like to change the pillowcases on my bed to give the room a whole new look almost as often as I change the cushions on my sofa. A white doona cover is my staple and I have a good collection of pillowcases in patterns, plains and vintage fabrics ready for when I need a new look. Pillowcases are probably one of the most basic things you can sew, so they’re great for beginners.
In keeping with my obsession for dirty pink and mustard I decided that I needed a pillowcase in those colours. I created a tutorial to show you how easy it is to make your own colour block pillowcases – or amend the dimensions and make envelope cushion covers for your sofa. It will take less than an hour to make and will give your bedroom a little facelift for the new season.
I created this tutorial for Craft Tuts+, so click here for the full step by step on how to make a colour block pillowcase, or click on the photo link above.
