At the risk of being flogged with a flower, I have to admit that Liberty usually isn’t my thing (although it is a big love of Rebecca’s). Having said that, I’m really smitten with these photos of the new Liberty for Uniqlo collaboration. The unlikely pairing of Liberty – iconic and quintessentially British – with cool, affordable Japanese brand Uniqlo is somewhat unexpectedly perfect.
The Liberty for Uniqlo collection pairs a selection of signature heritage florals from the Liberty archives with Uniqlo’s forward-thinking reactive design. An explosion of pattern and colour in these shots propels Liberty from the past and present into the future.
The collection, available at both Liberty and Uniqlo, consists of womenswear, menswear and childrens ranges.
I’m going to admit that the set design and artful pattern clash in Nick Knight’s photos are what’s exciting me here. But that’s just me, the designer who isn’t pretending to be a fashion blogger! What do you think? Do you love the photos? The clothes? Or both?
The Liberty for Uniqlo collection was launched at the end of March. Shop online at Liberty and Uniqlo.
