The idea for these butterfly push pins has been floating around in my head for so long. They are an easy and pretty way to add colour and interest to a pin board… even if you’re just pinning up boring documents. Put a butterfly on it!
While I don’t advocate preserving real butterflies, I love the idea of having a paper butterfly collection. They’d make a really sweet budget conscious gift when lined up and pinned on a cork trivet like a traditional collection.
How to make butterfly push pins
Just print out my free butterfly printable and carefully cut out the butterflies with small sharp scissors. Then make two folds parallel to the body, one on either side, and fold the wings up. Push a pin through the widest part of the body and you’re done. Beautiful butterfly push pins!
These butterflies also make beautiful gift toppers – see how to use them and download my pretty floral gift wrap printable.
