Summer is on it’s way and that means spring cleaning, changing things up at home and lots of entertaining. I can’t think of a better new Summer colour palette than delicious fresh pastels. One of Freedom‘s colour stories for Summer 2014 is called Sorbet Dream and it’s exactly what I’m loving, so I jumped at the chance to shop the collection for my home. With Spring and Summer entertaining in mind I focused on my dining area and invited a couple of friends over for an afternoon tea catch up.
The Geo Triangle Print is my favourite item from the collection, and it was the starting point for this Spring/Summer makeover. The colours and simplicity of the design are so fresh, and when I hung it above our dining table the whole mood of the room livened up.
I baked lemon cake and we drank jasmine green tea and citrus infused water. We spent a long lazy afternoon enjoying each others’ company and feeling like summer had already arrived.

These are the pieces that I chose for Summer Sorbet Dream entertaining…
Geo Triangle Print // Kaleido tea pot // Diagonal and Dots bone china mugs // Large oak Host platter and serving board // 25cm Vertigo vessel, and 31cm Vertigo vessel // Citrus Drop tumbler
Although it’s not in keeping with the colour theme I couldn’t go past the style and practicality of this massive woven tote bag because it’s a Summer essential. It’s perfect for shopping at the organic markets or a quick stop off at the local shops, for a picnic, and of course for the beach.
What’s your favourite interiors trend for the warmer months? If you’re not convinced that Sorbet Dream is for you take a look at Freedom’s other Summer collections: Island Life, Sunseeker and Colour Fiesta.
Come on Summer, I’m ready.
